When was the last time you had the opportunity to positively change a life . . . maybe even save a life?
Esther’s Hope is a Child Rescue project of Victorious Faith Ministries (VFM) of Algoma, WI. It was established to help desperately needy children in Liberia. Our mission is to recruit “sponsors” who will not only offer financial assistance but also prayer support, encouragement and hope.

The Children of Victorious Faith Refuge Home
A team from VFM, Algoma has made two separate trips to Liberia and the Refuge Home. Each time those who have gone have been astounded by two things. First, the living conditions of the orphans; the cramped home, lack of electricity, no running water, no toys, poor sanitation, etc. The second is the sweetness and joy that the orphans have despite these difficult circumstances. There is no complaining, grumbling or self-pity. They just live life and make the most of what little they have. When you watch them play, see them smile, hear them laugh, sing and pray, you can’t help but fall in love with them and you won’t be able to forget them. All who traveled to Liberia have a special place in their heart for these precious children.
There is no shortage of need in Liberia. After 14-years of brutal civil-war, 80% of the population lives below the poverty line; the Liberian poverty line. Through Esther’s Hope, Victorious Faith Ministries is making a positive change in Liberia, and we are looking for people to partner with us. Sponsoring a child through Esther’s Hope requires a commitment of $30 a month. The money will be used to provide for the basic needs at the orphanage such as food, shelter, clothing, healthcare and education. Because VFM in Algoma assumes all the administrative costs as part of its contribution, 100% of the sponsorship dollars we receive goes to the care of the orphans in Liberia. One time gifts are accepted from those who wish to help with our administrative costs.
So, when was the last time you had the opportunity to positively change a life, maybe even save a life, for so little? Please carefully browse through this website and prayerfully consider becoming an Esther’s Hope sponsor.
From my first contact with Victorious Faith Refuge Home, I was struck by the immense care shown for the children, despite any shortage. More than any other orphanage in Liberia (and I’ve seen over 70), VF caretakers endeavor to provide a home environment to grow up in, not just a building to live in. And in all my experience in Liberia, the best evidence of children well cared for is how interactive they are–and the 30 children at VF are just that. They introduced themselves and each other, singing, including one another all the time.

Esther’s Hope Video
This following video was produced after our January 2007 trip. Before we even completed it, many improvements were made to the refuge home. Along with images of the Esther’s Hope children you will see Emmanuel, the boy with the club feet. We are happy to report his feet have been surgically corrected. Although this video is out of date, it offers you a glimpse of what life is like in Liberia and the ongoing work of Esther’s Hope. We will be creating new videos and posting them to this site as time and resources permit.
