Melvin came to the Victorious Faith Refuge Home in 2005 from the Doe Community, a very poor community in the capital city of Monrovia. After Melvin’s dad abandoned them, Melvin and his mom were forced out of his aunt’s house because she was unable to feed them. Melvin’s mom lives in the swamps and didn’t want Melvin living there so she brought him to the refuge home. Melvin enjoys reading and playing with toys. He has one younger sister who is still with his mom.
